Oliver Pugh
Job title and company: Founder / CEO, EarlyBird Snacks, Magic Hippo Events LTD, tableYETi.com
I’m a 31 year old entrepreneur, I’ve always been an entrepreneur, and always will be. I build things, I talk and then I do, I think and then I make. I test and the I scale.
Apart from the classic, selling sweets in the playground from the age of 10 years old, and begging my grandfather to let me restock the shelves for £5 at his pub from the age of 6. I started my first proper venture at the age of 20, hiring mobile bars from my dads garage. I raised no capital and grew the business out of cashflow into a profitable success.
Fast forward 6 years and I decided to embark on my next challenge, a healthy snack delivery service, we engaged the best of the best and raised over £750,000 from private investors, in the end it didn’t work out. But I’m pleased to tell people that I learnt more from 3 years of failing at something than I did from 6 years of being successful at something.
I’m currently the founder of two companies, one is a franchised version of the business I started when I was 20 (which is going very well) and the other is a “proper” startup called tableYETi.com, imagine if we replaced restaurant bills with iPads and people could just checkout themselves (this is in MVP dev stage).
